Students will participate in 12 peer-led discussions, and will lead 1 of them. They are held on the Discussion board on Blackboard - this page is simply to sign up to lead the discussions. Topics for discussion facilitators to choose should parallel what is being covered in class at that time. By Sunday January 25th at 5PM, choose a discussion week below:
Discussions are to be interesting and intelligent. Discussions are not to be superficial or non-academic. For topic ideas, refer to the textbook readings- something will spark your interest! Students are to upload a journal article, podcast, or videocast related to the current course topic for their discussion group to read/listen to, and then pose a question related to that article/podcast/videocast. You may discuss your proposed topic with me if you are unsure about it. Discussion participants are to:
Choose one of the discussion questions each week to participate in.
Respond to the chosen question.
Respond to two of their peers' responses- can be from other discussion topics. - 3 posts total per week.
Discussion leaders will pose the question, and respond to two of their peers' responses.
Make sure to evenly distribute participants in the different discussion groups.
